To provide educational material (slide programs, teaching packets, videocassettes, videodiscs, CD-ROMs, and DVDs) on the Gallery's collections and exhibitions, free of charge, except for return mailing, to schools, colleges, and libraries across the Nation.

Applicant Eligibility:   Schools, colleges, libraries, clubs, museums, community organizations, individuals, and non-commercial educational television stations.

Beneficiary Eligibility:   Public and private nonprofit institutions and organizations.

PROGRAM ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
In fiscal year 2001, audiovisual art education materials relating to the Nation's collection of paintings and sculptures and to the Gallery's special exhibitions were shown 174,178 times. In fiscal years 2002 and 2003, the number of showings and audiences are estimated to remain in this range. The use of these resource materials in the educational community and for continuing and lifelong learning will remain high. In fiscal year 2001, Extension Programs on the Gallery's collections and exhibitions were seen by a reported 16,640,993 persons.
