OBJECTIVES: Need help understanding this page?
To provide fingerprint and arrest-record services to U.S. Government and criminal justice agencies; and to provide arrest- record services to State and local governmental authorities, as well as certain authorized nongovernmental entities for employment and licensing purposes.

USES AND USE RESTRICTIONS:

Criminal identification by means of fingerprints; determination of a person's past criminal history, if any; fingerprint identification of missing persons, unknown deceased persons, unknown living persons and victims of major disasters; and processing of physical evidence for latent finger and palm prints. Information must be used for official purposes only and is not furnished for public dissemination.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

Applicant Eligibility: All criminal justice agencies, Federal Government, and other authorized governmental and nongovernmental agencies and entities.
Beneficiary Eligibility: All criminal justice agencies, Federal Government, and other authorized governmental and nongovernmental agencies and entities.
Credentials/Documentation: Initial request for services must be from a statutorily authorized agency; request must be written on letterhead of agency and list address of agency and title of official signing request; it must indicate that information is to be used only for criminal investigative or other official purpose authorized by statute; and reply will be sent only to head of requesting organization.
