Mediation

Mediation services are provided by a number of Federal agencies (such as, the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service), to resolve disputes between labor and management, and prevent unfair monopolistic practices and unfair methods of competition.

	10.435 State Mediation Grants - Objective: To assist States in establishing and administering mediation programs and services for agricultural producers, creditors of producers (as applicable), and persons directly affected by actions of the Department of Agriculture. 16.200 Community Relations Service - Objective: To provide free Federal conciliation and mediation services to communities in preventing and resolving community tensions, conflicts, and civil disorders arising from actions, policies, and practices that are perceived to be based on race, ethnicity, or national origin. No funds are granted to outside organizations to provide these services. Click here for more information

	19.200 Claims Against Foreign Governments - Objective: To resolve, or assist in resolving, valid claims of United States nationals against foreign governments. Click here for more information

	33.001 Shipping Investigation of Complaints - Objective: To provide a forum for settling disputes between carriers and shippers on an informal basis, if possible, or by institution of formal proceedings, if warranted. Click here for more information

	34.001 Labor Mediation and Conciliation - Objective: To prevent or minimize work stoppages caused by disputes between labor and management in industries affecting the free flow of commerce; to provide mediation assistance in Federal labor disputes; to provide training and dispute resolution services to Federal agencies. 	34.002 Labor Management Cooperation - Objective: To support the establishment or expansion of joint labor-management committees in both public and private sectors at the worksite, area, and industry-wide level in order to improve labor- management relations, economic development, and productivity. 	36.001 Fair Competition Counseling and Investigation of Complaints - Objective: To prevent and eliminate monopolistic practices and unfair methods of competition; to investigate and proscribe acts and practices which are unfair or deceptive to the consuming public. Click here for more information

58.001 Securities_Investigation of Complaints and SEC Information - Objective: To serve investors who complain about investment fraud or the mishandling of their investments by securities professionals. To respond to a wide range of investor inquiries, produce and distribute educational materials, and organize investor education events. To advise the SEC and its staff about problems frequently encountered by investors and possible solutions. To represent the interests of individual investors in connection with SEC rule-making proceedings. Click here for more information

	78.004 Commodity Futures Reparations Claims - Objective: To respond to customer complaints and inquiries and to provide a forum for hearing and ruling on reparations complaints against registrants regarding monetary damages resulting from violation of the Commodity Exchange Act or regulations.
