Emergency
Planning & Assistance
Many
of these programs deal with emergency response and recovery. Some
may be of interest to individuals seeking assistance in dealing
with the events of September 11, 2001.
The Department of Defense, the
Department of the Interior, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)
conduct initiatives to improve flood warnings, enhance measures to prevent
floods and other disasters, as well as protect essential public structures,
buildings and facilities.
In a post 9-11 world, these
agencies provide emergency assistance to victims incurring substantial losses
due to natural and unnatural disasters, and enhance the capabilities of our
first responders to manage the consequences of terrorist acts.
